Prem Lata

Prem Lata creates sculptures that reflect her passion and inner emotions. Her work is grounded in a deep understanding of complex feeling, often carrying a sense of sweetness, romance, and melody through sculptural form.

She studied sculpture under Saroj Jain at Triveni Kala Sangam in New Delhi. That training became part of a practice defined by close observation, emotional sensitivity, and a personal approach to making.

Her creative life also extends into literature. She has contributed articles and stories to Sarita, the well-known Hindi magazine, bringing the same attentiveness to the written word that she brings to sculpture.

Prem Lata has actively participated in exhibitions at AIFACS. Her sculpture “Dhartal” was selected by the National Gallery of Modern Art, New Delhi, as a permanent exhibit.

Her 1998 group show at Triveni received coverage from several magazines, and Women’s Era published a special feature on her sculpture “Alokik”. In the same year, her sculptures were selected for the 25th Art Exhibition held by Sahitya Kala Academy at Lalit Kala Academy.

In 2002, her sculpture “Kilol” was selected and displayed in an exhibition held by Sahitya Kala Academy. Her solo sculpture exhibition was also featured by publications including New Women, Women’s Era, Greh Shobha, and national dailies.

Her works are included in the National Gallery of Modern Art, Delhi College of Art, and private collections in India and abroad. She lives and works in Noida, Uttar Pradesh.
